President Hussein Mwinyi Assured Support to ZIPA and TIC .

PRESIDENT Hussein Mwinyi, Chairman of the Revolutionary Council of Zanzibar, has given his blessings and supporting to the strengthening of collaboration between the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) and the Tanzania Investment Center (TIC) in the whole issue of reinforcement of investment in the country.
Dr. Mwinyi has given these blessings during a meeting held with the leadership of the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) under its CEO Shariff Ali Shariff as well as the leadership of the Tanzania Investment Center (TIC) under its Executive Director Dr. Maduhu I. Kazi. The meeting was held at the State House in Zanzibar.
 “By developing a mechanism to promote cooperation it is sensible and very productive in terms of investment in the country as the opportunities available should be promoted together”, President Mwinyi said.
He said that, he is supporting the decision and wishing a great progress to these institutions in order to achieve the intended goals.
“There is a need to strengthen further the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) process as the time has come for what was not available to be simulated in the MOU with the aim of getting more productivity for both parties”, President Mwinyi added.
He said that, the issue of exchanging experiences between the two institutions is a very important step that will help provide training for the workers of the institutions in order to strengthen the investment sector in the country.
In addition, Dr. Mwinyi expressed his dream of seeing the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) have a One Stop Shop Center.
He added that the move to have a single service delivery center will help eliminate bureaucracy and delays in providing services to investors and make the investment sector easier in the country.
