Dangote: “Tanzania is a safe place for Investment” .

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan met and held talks with businessman Alhaji Aliko Dangote the owner of Dangote Cement Factory who has invested in the Mtwara Region at the State House, Dar es Salaam on 24th May, 2021.


After the talks, Alhaji Dangote commended President Samia for taking various steps to improve the business environment in Tanzania and promised that his company which has invested in the country, amounting to US $ 770 million (equivalent to 1.761 trillion shillings) will continue to invest in other areas including his plan to build a fertilizer factory.


"We will continue to invest in Tanzania to create jobs, income and raise the well-being of the people of Tanzania, I think he needs support in this and we have promised her that we will continue to invest heavily here in Tanzania to support what she does and we will create jobs" said Alhaji Dangote.


He said due to the changing and improving business environment in Tanzania he would encourage traders and fellow investors to invest in Tanzania as the Government is ready to work with them.


For her part, President Samia congratulated Alhaji Dangote for his investment in the country and assured him that the Government will ensure that its investment and other investors are protected for the benefit of both parties.


President Samia instructed the Minister of Investment Geoffrey Mwambe, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Prof. Kitila Mkumbo and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Hamad Masauni who attended the talks to work on all the challenges facing the Dangote factory to continue to produce the required products and bring the intended benefits.
